Profile of Kaoru Tomita

Kaoru Tomita has learned tap dancing, jazz dancing, ballet, break dancing, singing, drama playing, etc., and has appeared in many stage performances.

In 1990, she established "Kaoru Tomita Tap Dance Company".

She has won success in many live performances, including "SHALL WE TAP?" a full-scale tap-dance live show.

In 1995, she opened her own pride studio at Takadanobaba in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, featuring wooden floor purposely designed for tap dancing, which is quite uncommon in Japan although it is common in the U.S.A. She has been giving lessons in the same environment as that in the home country of tap dancing.

　

It has been a regular practice for Kaoru Tomita to visit New York very year and refine her skill by dancing with local professional dancers, and also appear on the stage of live-houses.

At resent, she has been displaying her unrestricted magnificent dancing while she has been actively engaged as a choreographer.
